Mommy Moment
I know it is not Monday and I have not done a Mommy Moment in a long time but I have to share this before I forget it!
Kira and I listen to the FISH radio station just about every morning on the way to school. Part of the morning show is a segment call Junior Joker, where kids tell jokes. Anyway it was a joke about Noah this morning. Kira has a sense of humor but some of them I have to explain a little, this morning being one of them. So as we were talking about Noah and how he took two of every animal on the Ark with him, like two worms, two birds, two elephant, and so on. Kira says "yeah I know mom and he took two of those bad snakes, the sinning snakes, I saw it on in my bible!"
You have to love your kids and how their little brains work! Thanks Kira for a great start to my day!

Mommy Moment
I know it has been awhile since I have posted a Mommy Moment, it has been a little crazy!
Onto the Mommy Moment;
Just the other night Kira woke up and was complaining about a scratch on her foot. She said that it really hurt and that the "brain" in her foot hurt!
How is the brain in your foot?

Monday Mommy Moments
Kira has the never ending runny nose in our house. It never fails that as soon as she takes a bit of food in the morning she will sneeze. Today was not any different, usually after a few good sneezes in the morning she is pretty good with a few good nose blowing moments. As I blew her nose right before we left the van to walk into school. I asked her where she stored all the buggers, that her head was not big enough. She just looked at me and said, "I don't know, but if you don't blow my nose I just Bless and Bless all day!"

Monday Mommy Moments
A few make my heart melt moments and one Kira moment.
Yesterday at church as Cassie and I were standing to sing during the praise time, we started singing a song and she looked up at me and said, "it is ....."(sorry don't remember the name of the song) and she was right. I got teared up to know that she loves to sing and is choosing to learn and remember song that praise her heavenly father.
Josiah newest thing this week is anytime we sing the song "Ho Ho Hosanna" he has started to wave his little hand and tries to sing the song. So cute you just want to cry.
Kira, bless her heart actually has two. The other day I was talking to my mom on the phone trying to come up with the name of this movie I have been hearing a lot about on the radio station we listen to and I could not think of it, then all the from no where Kira says "Fire Proof is the name mom." I asked how in the world did you know that, she said "because they are always talking about it on the radio." This was so cute but also a eye opener for me, they really do listen to the radio and pick stuff up, so like the song says "be careful little ears what you hear."
Kira other one is funny, I bought Kira a pair of slipper today and she was trying them on while we were driving home from school. From the back seat I hear "I love these mom so much I wish I could keep them till I die." I said but your feet will grow and then they won't fit. Her reply was "I wish they could just grow like my feet, then I could keep them forever." Got to love the way their brains works.

Monday Mommy Moments
I know, it is late again. I don't really have a mommy moment to share today. This is more a Thank you moment to my MOMMY!
Thanks mom for going to all those thing you did not want to when we were kids. When you were not feeling good, or just flat out tired but you still brought us anyway. For all the running around to this practice or that game. Also for teaching us that it is OK every once in a while to go to church of the "sheets with pastor pillow!"
I had kind of a rough end of the week last week, just not feeling good and it seemed like we had everything going on. From school carnival ( outside in 90+ heat with full sun! that is hot for this non-Californian native) to soccer picture and game, the yard needed mowing and the house needed cleaning. I don't remember which night it was but sometime in the last few nights I remember being very thankful for such a great mom, who has taught me more then I even know.
THANK MOM! I LOVE YOU!

Monday Mommy Moments
I do have a Mommy Moment, even though it is late! it is still Monday!
Kira has made up a new song that she has been sing the last couple of days. I think she loves having all the attention in the car in the mornings on the way to school, now that Cassie is riding the bus. Anyway the song, it changes a little from day to day depending on what she see. It is "I love ..." fill in the what she see at that moment. A few lines are always the same "I love my Dad, my Sister, my Brother, my Mom" we even get repeated a lot in the song. That is all cute, but the part that made me almost drive off the road was after getting all the family members in at the top of her lungs she says "I LOVE MY SELF! I LOVE MY SELF!"
Well at least she is honest!

Monday Mommy Moments
Last night at supper we were talking about all the holiday's that will happen before Daddy get home. We stop however on Christmas a little longer then the others and that is where the mommy moment comes in. As we were talking about stockings, and in our family the adults stuff each other stockings, because Santa has asked for help with them and also for a little extra help on the kids stockings. This is our way to still have Santa but down play it a little, anyway
Cassie all of the sudden looked at me and said "Mom who is going to stuff your stocking, Dad is...." she stopped mid sentence and then said " I did not just break it for you did I mom? You know Dad stuffs your stocking and not Santa right?"
It is so fun to watch your kids grow and watch the wheels in there heads turn!

Monday Mommy Moments
This weeks Mommy moment was more of a mommy realization. Each child you have gets a little tougher. Correct me if I am wrong, moms with multiple children, but with each child you become a little more shall I say, laid back. Here is my examples;
Josiah was playing the living room with Kira, I can't remember what I was doing but something where they were in ear shot but not direct eye site.
The crying did not last long so I assumed all was fine. After finishing whatever it was I was doing, I went and check on the kids. Much to my surprise Josiah had a nice sized scratch on his head. Kira proceeded to tell me she bumped him and he fell into the pack&play, must of hit the break on the wheel.
Later that day I realized I need to take Josiah 8 month pictures, so I put him in the recliner with the bear we have used for all the kids and took his picture. In the process of doing so I realized that the Coo Coo Clock was not running. I still withing arms reach of the chair turned and wound the clock. The next thing I know I hear Josiah crying again, this time he has gone from the chair to the floor. He acquired a nice chair/rug burn on his noise.

- With the first child I don't think I was ever out of eye site, the second one in the same room but defiantly never in a different room.
- With the first child you were right there so they never cried as you were picked them up before they could cry, the second child they cried but you were close enough and most likely saw what happened.

- Again with the first I would have never turned your back, and the second I would have at least kept one hand on the baby.
- First child I never check e-mail unless they were in bed, second child only when they were contained in something.

Monday Mommy Moments
Got to love children's honesty!
Kira started Pre-school and is loving it. With it still being the first weeks of school, she is still learning names. She was telling me about what they did and was talking about a friend and I asked her his name. She said "I don't know his name but he is the one with the funny shaped head, you know the one that is not round but looks like a triangle." I had all I could do to not laugh, she said it so straight forward like there was nothing wrong with it. Needless to say we had a little talk about making sure she did not tell him he had a triangle shaped head!

Monday Mommy Moments
These pictures are my mommy moment for today. I can't believe that both the girls started school today. Maybe it is more of a mommy milestone.

Monday Mommy Moment
You gotta love how kids get their words mixed up every once in a while. This weeks mommy moment is just that, Kira is a great one for getting words mixed up or just not quite right.
One afternoon while on vacation Ba (grandpa) got both the girls bowls of animal crackers. I believe Cassie was the instigator on snack time so she was right under foot while they were being passed out. Kira on the other hand was off playing in the other room. When Cassie came walking in with her bowl and would not share, Kira got pretty upset and came to tell me about it. I then told her that she had a bowl on the table that Ba had gotten for her. That is when she said " Ba you scared me with my bowl of animal crackers, thank you!" Well she almost got it, she was actually "surprised"

Monday Mommy Moments
This is a tender mommy moment for this week.
While we were on our vacation in WI, we had a couple really good thunderstorms, which we (Kevin) miss and love to sit and watch. During one of the storms the thunder was very loud and the lighting very bright. The kids had gone to bed before it started and where dead to the world so we thought. Sometime during the middle of the night, in the midst of the thunder I hear this small little voice "can I sleep with you?" how could I resist such a sweet request as this. Who was it you ask? CASSIE! So not much sleep was had by me as I lay snuggled up with my 6 year old next to me, but I would not change it for the world.

Mommy Moments
It seems as Kira is the subject of most of my mommy moments!
Kira and Niaja (her cousin) are two peas in a pod. Being two peas in a pod, they would either get along or fight like cats and dogs. In the car on the way home we were talking about being nice to people. With a big sappy look on her, face she said "Mom I don't like being mean to everybody but I just can't stop!"

Monday Mommy Moment
One night I was reading to the girls in their room, we were all on the floor snuggled up and Kira asked "can we have a silver party?" I was a little confused so I asked her to explain, once she started talking about sleeping bags, it all was clear. She wanted to have a slumber party!

Monday Mommy Moments
When we were in Germany I attended a MOPS group, it is wonderful group of mothers of pre-schoolers. At our meeting we would do a section called Mommy Moments where we could share all those wonderful things our kids do or say. With that said I thought I would start my own Monday Mommy Moments as my kids are full of them!
So to start us off here is video of my big helper. Cassie has been begging to feed Josiah so I finally let her. Watch her closely, especially her mouth on the last bite :) Makes me wonder what I look like when I am feeding Josiah :)
Make sure you leave me a comment with your mommy moment or if you blog about it let me know!
