I can tell that it is getting closer to when Kevin should be home because it is pouring in our house right now! It always seems to happen right after they leave and right before they come home!
Both Cars need to fix! The van went in for the routine oil change and all is good, except when I went to get in was a big scratch and dent on the driver door! YIKES. The dealer is going to fix it for me as they did it, but they will need the van for a few day. All good right, I have a second car not being used as Kevin is gone right? WRONG! It won't start! So tomorrow with the wonderful help of my neighbor we are bringing the car in to get fixed so that I can drive that while the dealer fixes my van! Told you it is pouring in our house! Oh, all the week before pay day too!
To add to it, i am not sleeping, not sure why. Last night I heard something, it was the wind I know but I had myself so freaked out that I did not sleep but 4hrs! Thank goodness the girls are so great and I was able to take a nap! Got to run the baby is awaking! Quite time is officially over!
So as my day's as a single married mother are coming to an end please pray for me and my family!
Thanks :)
Liz

Frustrations! & Solutions!
The day was going pretty good, I am a little stressed with a lot going on in the next couple of day's, but I had my menu and grocery list done, kids up, dressed, feed and out the door on time. The day was looking good. Josiah and I went to the store, which by the way I really love shopping with only one child! Anyway got in an out and even home in time for a short nap for Josiah while I put grocery away before we needed to be out the door to pick up Kira and off to gymnastics. But when I walked in the house the little light on the phone was blinking, it was Cassie teacher.
We had another missing book. This would be the third one this year! YIKES. This has been an ongoing problem this year. They are just disappearing, to make a long story short I am at my wits end, not knowing what to do. But after some investigation on my part and the teachers part we think we have figured it out. My little Cassie has a huge heart and is a social butterfly this is a good thing and a bad thing. She is so excited to see her friends in the morning that she is getting distracted and forgetting what she is doing. Needless to say things are getting dropped and miss placed. So we are coming up with a check list for the morning to try and keep her on task. You teacher out there are so smart! Time will tell!
Here is last years & this years school picture of Cassie, oh how they grow up!

Shout out to Single Parents
Single Parents have one of the hardest job out there! Here is my two thumbs up to you!
In these last couple of weeks I have really gain new found admiration for single parents out there, especially those that are not near family. From running between gymnastic & soccer practice, appointments, back to school night and all those everyday things we do. You name it I have had to do it. The problem being is some of these you can't or they don't want you to take the kid with you. So what do you do? Example Kira school which we have to qualify financially for, had a back to school night last night but did not want kids there. OK so I qualify for the school because of our lower income and now you want me to find a babysitter so that I can come with no kids? Or even to volunteer for her class which I have to do once a month, but I can't take Josiah. So what is a single parent to do? I am so thankful for great neighbors and friends that are willing to watch my children for me.
I want to make sure I am clear on this, I am not complaining, well maybe a little but I am very grateful for all the opportunities my children have and they are all by my choose. All the soccer, gymnastics, Kira pre-school. But I do think that we need to be aware of all the single parents out there and think about them when planning things!
Anyway that is just my little rant for the day, I will get off my soap box now! For the single parents just keep your heads up!

Saying Good Bye
The other thing I learned real fast is if something is going to go wrong, with anything like the car, the house, you name it, it will happen when he is gone. This separation is appearing to be no different.
After bringing Kira to school, then Cassie to school, then back to pick Kira up school (she only went for an hour yesterday and today) we headed to the dealer where they check the tires, put air in them and made an appointment for the doors. Thank goodness for warranties!
I am sure it will be a very early to bed night for all of us tonight. I do know that Kevin has a few long hours and plane rides ahead of him today also. I will or Kevin will try to keep you posted on his end and his journey as well.

Moving Frustrations
Moving comes with the good and the bad. I really don't mind moving, getting to explore new areas, meeting lots of new people and try new things. But one of the down sides to moving is having to find a new... dentist, hair stylist, nail tech, coffee shop, bargain stores and the list can go on. You know all those little things you don't think about until you have to move and find a new one. Let's just say I wish that I could hop on a plane to Texas to see Christina to get mine and the girls hair cut. WE MISS YOU!
I am in search of a dentist right now, I figure since I am paying for dental insurance I should use it! But where do you start? When I do a search on my providers website you just get a list of name and address, what good is that? How do I know if they are nice? Is the office clean? How long will I have to wait? I have put the question out to my friends on CafeMom, and will soon on Mamasource as well, these are two social groups I am a part of and I really like. I have found asking questions is the best bet but it still is not fun!
So if anyone out there has any ideas for me let me know!

A LONG night!
We experienced something for the first time last night. This is our first time living off base in a community and I am really not sure what the "rules" are for things like last night.
We came home last night to our street full of cars. It appeared that our neighbors were having some kind of get together. After getting the kids in bed and having a little snack Kevin was off to bed as he needed to get up at 3am for work. A little picture into our house and neighborhood, the houses are really close so our bedroom window is right next to the neighbors back yard, yes the ones having the party. Kevin went to bed and I started watching a movie, about an hour later, 9pm, Kevin came down wondering if we had any ear plugs. By 11pm he was back down to have a glass of milk, no sleep yet. Now the neighbors were not being all that loud, no loud music, it is just the fact that our houses are so close. Kevin said it sounded like a hen house! the women and kids were outside. To add to the night, Kira was not sleeping very well either I think she was up 3 times from 11pm-1pm while Kevin and I drifted in and out of sleep. I believe it finally got quite and everyone went home or to bed by 2am. So needless to say Kevin got maybe an hour of sleep last night.
So if you are reading this if you would just shout out a prayer for Kevin as he is going to have a very long day today with only 1hr of sleep at best.
So what is the polite neighborly thing to have done? Should of I went over and asked them to maybe keep it down some? Just leave it be, I mean what if we want to have a party sometime? Any recommendations on good ear plugs, Kevin just can't seem to sleep with them in.
