Record temperatures and sweat!

We were back to training today and it was miserable due to the weather! We had record high temperatures in New Jersey coupled with high humidity. Training for the mission unfortunately doesn't stop for obnoxious weather and we were out in full battle rattle doing mounted patrols. I can tell you that sitting in a HMMWV (Hummer in civilian lexicon) in these temperatures is the best weight loss program I have seen yet! We ran through a few combat scenarios and called it quits around 1500 (3:00pm) because the cadre were happy with the motivation of the troops despite the weather. We got in and got our gear squared away and got something to eat. I'm doing this at the moment, but as soon as I finish, it will be off to bed. Tomorrow is not supposed to be any better and we have a very physically demanding track to get through. That's it for today, more tomorrow.
