Hollywood and Politics...

I'm sure Liz will be posting a Mommy Moment later today, but I have another rant to get off my chest. I suppose many of you have noticed the political nature of my recent posts, there's a reason for that. The more I research Barak Obama and his cronies, the more alarmed I am at the numbers of people who still support him. This is an important election and I feel very strongly about the issues and the Democratic candidate. Mr. Obama is the polar opposite of all things I believe and hold dear.

With all the bickering back and forth and all the verbal blunders of the past week, Hollywood has once again been heard from. Ah, yes, the land of empty heads engaged in debauchery and delusions of grandeur. Now we get to deal with voices from that alternate reality telling us how to vote!

Who on earth does Matt Damon think he is? He's made some movies and is a talented actor, but that's it, he's an actor. He is not a politician, a political analyst or even a journalist. He's an actor who apparently thinks that fame and fortune make him qualified to critique voters on another side of an issue.

Who on earth is Lindsey Lohan? She's made some really bad movies. She's wallowed in alcohol and drug dependency, apparently to assuage the sting of being a horrible actress. Now she is busy flitting around Hollywood with her lesbian lover who she apparently intends to marry. Quite a resume. Why do I bring this up? I'll tell you. Earlier this week, she had the nerve to lash out at Sarah Palin for her conservative stance. How nice.

By and large, Hollywood is for Barak Obama, the upstart who is left of Mrs. Clinton and possibly even a bit left of Hitler, the guy is out there. The more liberal the candidate, the more Hollywood loves them. What disturbs me is that, Matt Damon, Lindsey Lohan, Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon and Michael Moore, just to name a few of the more offensive characters in Hollywood, are the people are children want to emulate and the constant message is to live your life in some sort of alternate reality. Lets keep in mind that these folks are paid to pretend to be someone else, so I guess it would naturally follow that they would support the candidate who is doing the same thing.

My message to Hollywood is this: You are paid to entertain me, so shut up and ENTERTAIN ME!

Obama's verbal slip fuels his critics

It would appear that Senator Obama has once again stuck his foot in his mouth. Perhaps it was innocent, but it looks like a Freudian slip to me. The slip in question is Obama referring to "his Muslim faith" rather than his Christian faith and was interrupted and corrected by George Stephanopoulos, who was interviewing him. Here is the article:

Sunday, September 7, 2008

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sen. Barack Obama's foes seized Sunday upon a brief slip of the tongue, when the Democratic presidential nominee was outlining his Christianity but accidentally said, "my Muslim faith."

The three words -- immediately corrected -- were during an exchange with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on "This Week," when he was trying to criticize the quiet smear campaign suggesting he is a Muslim.

But illustrating the difficulty of preventing false rumors about his faith from spreading, anti-Obama groups within one hour of the interview had sliced it out of context and were sending it around via email. They also were blogging about it.

Mr. Obama, who is a Christian and often proudly speaks about how his faith has influenced his public service, said he finds it "deeply offensive" that there are efforts "coming out of the Republican camp to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith."

The exchange came after Mr. Obama said that Republicans are attempting to scare voters by suggesting he is not Christian, which McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said was "cynical."

Asked about it on ABC, Mr. Obama said, "These guys love to throw a rock and hide their hand."

"The McCain campaign has never suggested you have Muslim connections," said Mr. Stephanopoulos, who repeatedly interrupted Mr. Obama during the interview.

"I don't think that when you look at what is being promulgated on Fox News, let's say, and Republican commentators who are closely allied to these folks," Mr Obama responded, and Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted: "But John McCain said that's wrong."

Mr. Obama noted that when Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin "was forced" to talk about her pregnant 17-year-old daughter, he issued a forceful statement to reporters that the line of inquiry was "off limits." But he said the McCain campaign tried to tie him to "liberal blogs that support Obama" and are "attacking Governor Palin."

"Let's not play games," he said. "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come."

Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, "Christian faith."

"My Christian faith," Mr. Obama said quickly. "Well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim. And I think that his campaign's upper echelons have not, either. What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith -- something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time."

Asked to comment on the accidental misstatement illustrating the difficulty of the issue, Obama spokesman Bill Burton offered this comment: "I'm not surprised that the only outlet doing this story is The Washington Times."

You can view the full context of Mr. Obama's comments on ABC here.

What is wrong with this country's Liberals?

As I follow the news, I can't help but wonder what is wrong with the liberals in this country? John McCain asks Sarah Palin to be his VP candidate and the liberal bloggers go absolutely insane. One of the most ridiculous rumors started was that Palin's four month old baby was actually her daughter's and that Palin was trying to "cover for her." Now there is the news that Palin's daughter is indeed pregnant and suddenly that is all anyone can talk about. This was a choice made by Palin's daughter and has nothing to do with her candidacy. The way I see it is that the liberals are extremely threatened by Palin and are reacting much the same way as a cornered animal, lashing out at their perceived antagonist.
Now let's turn our attention to the RNC convention. What is it in the liberal ethos that seems to demand a protest wherever Republicans, the military or anything capitalist are gathered? Do they really think that setting dumpsters on fire and vandalizing Police cars is an effective means of furthering their agenda? Again, we have a bunch of small minded people making a bad name for the rest of the Democratic Party who are by and large well behaved. Their pet issues, mainly the war, get in the way of the larger picture and once again, they react as cornered animals lashing out and making statements that drip with hatred. The big thing that I noticed is that there was no trouble to speak of at the DNC convention, yet the liberals call the Republicans extremists.
I have been very frustrated as of late by the news of all this bad behavior and radical extremism shown by radical liberals attaching themselves to the Democratic party and I ask again, what is wrong with these people?
