It has been a crazy few month! Just wanted everyone to know we are all still alive and kicking.

There is something I wouldlove to share with all of you! Somemight already know but other might not, I have struggled with my weight andself confidence most of my life. AfterJosiah was born, (he will be 4 in Dec.!) I worked very hard and lost all of mybabies (all three of them) weight. Itfelt great to be the smallest I have ever been in my life that I remember. Kevinand I have really been working hard on changing the way our entire family eatsand takes care of ourselves. We want tobe happy and healthy! Kevin startedrunning and really enjoys it, me on the other longed to get in shape, sure Ihad lost the weight but I wanted to be “in shape” and “look” in shape. So when my brother-in-law shared with us hisamazing story and results he got with P90X and Shakeology (a fantastic mealreplacement shake!) it peeked both of our interest.

That leads me to tell all ofyou that I am officially 4 weeks into P90X and have been using Shakeology alongwith it! (BTW – I have lost 3 inches off my waist & hips already!) Not only did I start P90X & Shakeologybut I became a Beachbody coach as well. I am so excited about this new adventure in my life. I feel better than I have in a really, really,long time and want to help other feel as great as I do, live happier healthier,longer lives!

Life's curve balls!

I really should not be surprised when I get a curve ball but sometime it we really can not see it coming.

Last night at supper I realized that tomorrow for the first(or at least a very long) time I was going to be in the house with no kids or hubby. Josiah started preschool on Wednesday, the girls would be in school and Kevin would be working. I was contemplating what I would do for the few short 3hrs I would have. Clean, sleep, do some digital scrap-booking, paper work, organizing for our upcoming move, or just park my butt in front of the TV?

Well at 3am my decision was made for me as I a sound I dread hearing! Can you guess? Well it was the sound of vomit! I put on my glasses and ran down the hall to find Kira on the toilet with a pill on the floor, I quickly reach for the trash and she proceed to fill it! After helping her clean up, change and get back to bed, I cleaned up, sanitized, & started a load of laundry all the while realizing that I was not going to be a lone!

Don't get me wrong I love hanging out with my kiddo's individually, and I am cherishing the time I have while they still want to just sit and read when they are home sick and not hid in their room on a phone or computer!

So I better get back to my baby(OK 7yr old) who seems to be rebounding very well!

Well we finally received word! We are headed to Grand Forks AFB, in Grand Forks North Dakota!

We are all so excited about this! (Only down fall is Kevin has to go to Korea before he get's to join the kids and I.)

The girls are excited, they can't wait to see and live where their will be snow!

I am always up for an adventure and this is just so close to home!

Kevin too is excited to be back in the Midwest, back on familiar ground.

Now come the fun task of researching the area, finding a place to live from thousands of miles away, figuring out when to go, how much time to take the kids out of school, which school they will attend, a new hair dresser & a new church.

Oh and don't forget we have to try and sell a house and move all our stuff!

We had a lot of fun this year on the 4th of July! We were asked as a family to help in the Granite Springs Church parade entry. It was a lot of fun to decorating the truck and helping spread the word about our church and the upcoming Music & Drama Camp! All while celebrating our nations birthday.

The girls made it home safe and sound last night. It was so fun to see their smiles and hear all the stories. There was not a quite moment on the 1 1/2 car ride home.

The girls left for their camp this morning :) Here is a picture of them waiting for the bus. It was all smiles this morning! The only tears came from Josiah when he realized he was not going on the "big bus" with them. It is going to be an interesting week with both girls gone! I do belive Josiah will be one spoiled little boy!

Our house has been bursting with news lately!

1. Both girls get to go to a 9 day camp, Camp Mendocino this summer! This is through a program call operation purple, a part of National Military Family Association. We are so thankful for the opportunity. Cassie went last year and had a blast! We are so excited that Kira will get to join her this year. Going to be a hard week for this mom :)

2. Kevin is a Master Sargent Select! We are so proud of you!
3. Kevin has orders to Korea for a year. This was a bit of (ok, huge) shock to us. He will be leaving some time in November. We are not sure yet as to what the kids and I will do. We have a few great options. We are just trying to make the right decision.

4. With Kevin's orders that will mean a move for us. As to where we do not know. Stay tuned for more to come! :)

Our lives in one word for the past months has been....

SOCCER!

It was a great season, both the girls did great, but I am one tired soccer mom. We had practices 4 days a week, between the girls, and two games every Saturday!

Kira had a rough start with not being able to play in any games because of her broken arm. She did come to the decision that soccer is not her game and I don't think will be playing next year.

Cassie had a great season, her coach had wonderful things to say about her and can't wait to see he in a couple of years just dominating the field.

Never a quite moment!

Kira wanted to make sure that we had an exciting weekend. It all started Saturday morning when we took a trip to the park. It was beautiful, nice and cool with a breeze. All kids were happy, even one of Kira's friend were at the park. She is our little adventure and wanted to try the monkey bars. First time she dropped down just fine, well needless to say the second time was not so graceful. She fell and put her arm down to stopper her self. This is when if there was sound I would insert a blood curdling scream!
Long story short, after a stop at the fire station and three firemen making a make shift splint out of cardboard and duck tape! Kira and I headed to Urgent care where x-ray's were taken and it was determined she has a buckle fracture to her left forearm.We left urgent care with a splint and a sling, and were told to come back on Monday for a cast. Kira got lots of attention at home, church & school. Now we have a bright pink cast to match our bright personality! ALL is well!

I know, I know it has been like FOREVER! Here is the low down on the Family

Kevin: Is off protecting the country on the other side of the pond for the next 6 months give or take.

Liz: Really enjoying my new job. You could not ask to work with a better group of people. I don't think there has been a morning yet that I did not want to get up and go to work.

Cassie: Has had a very busy and exciting summer. It started with our family vacation to WI for 3 weeks where she learned to shoot a b.b. gun & 22. Then it was directly off to Operation Purple camp for 9 days, then summer camp at school. Things have slowed down a little now that she is hanging out with the best daycare provider around! Soccer practice starts this week, and then it is school already next week. 3rd grade here she comes!

Kira: Had an extra special trip to WI, as it was her birthday while we were there. All her cousin, aunts, uncle, Ba & Grammy were able to celebrate with us, fireworks and all. Her present was a girls day out with Grammy, Auntie Kelly, Cassie & Mom. We had pedicures, lunch and to top it off she got her ears pierced. She has also had a blast at the summer camp and is also enjoying the best daycare provider! Soccer will also start soon for her and them 1st grade here we come!

Josiah: What to say about Josiah, he is growing like a weed. His highlight from our vacation was riding the four wheelers or Motor Cycle as he called them. He loved our two night camping trip and just being able to run free and be a boy out in the country. He loves being able to spend time with that awesome daycare lady also. He is our little boy who is always sick, no really at least once if not twice a month. We are trying to figure it all out, but that is a whole other post that maybe some day I will tackle.

I think that about covers it, we have had a great summer and it is very quickly coming to a close and the new season of our family has started.

New Job

Well it has been a whirl wind couple of weeks around here. About two weeks ago after much thinking, some kind and encouraging words & complete support from husband, I applied for a the office manager at my church. With in a weeks time I had an interview, was hired and started work! It all happened really fast but things are going great. So far the kids are doing great, Josiah has even started peeing on the potty a little!

So I am officially a working mom and loving it!

I think we might just give it a try. You are able to read books on-line with people via video chat. My kids love to read and love to have grandpas, grandmas, aunts, uncle or anyone read to them. An added plus for us this month is they are giving Military families a free 6month membership! I also like the idea that only one of the two people chatting have to be members. So my family can become members and all my extended family only need guest memberships to read to my kids! Being able to interact with family is so important and now we can do it even though we are miles apart! I will let you know how it goes!

It really has not been to bad, just has not helped that Josiah is sick again so we really have not left the house much! I feel bad mostly for the girls who are just hanging out on their break. We were able to get out for a short walk this afternoon and the kids found a dirt pile to climb;

Birthday weekend in San Fransico!

We had a fantastic weekend in San Fransisco for Cassie birthday! We stayed in a great hotel with a pool, and hot breakfast each morning. We ate a very fun and reasonable restaurant, Elephant Bar. I do believe our bay cruise with Adventure Cat sailing charters was the highlight of the trip. The weather was beautiful and the crew was fantastic. The smiles on the kids faces priceless. We ended the day with a birthday supper at the Rainforest Cafe. On the way home on Sunday we went to the Exploratorium where the kids got to touch whatever they wanted.

It was a great weekend of much needed and enjoyed family time! Here are a few photos of our weekend!

We are going to try something new is year. We have bought a share in Farmer Jim farm. Jim is a local farmer and is part of Community Supported Agriculture. Long story short we pay farmer Jim up front and for 33 weeks we get a box of farm fresh veggies of all kinds once a week! We are all so excited and can't wait. I will keep you posted as to how we like it and what kind of things we are getting and making with this adventure!

Update! We are alive!

I will say it again, where do the days go?? More then once in the last two months I have said to myself "I need to update our blog." So here it is,
The girls are doing great in school and making friends. They have started AWANA's on base and love it. Josiah is growing everyday and becoming a true two year old in every sense of the word.

Kevin is still plugging along at work, some days are better then other but isn't that true for all of us. He finally got a Dr. understand that his back pain was not normal. He has started to see the Chiropractor and we are hoping it will help, may be a long road but anything is better then nothing.

I am staying busy chasing after Josiah and trying to keep him fed! I also helping with our Church's MOPS group. I got to go on a what I am calling a "Mom-cation" to Florida in Jan. where I meet up with two of my friends. It was a very wonderful 5 days.

So that pretty much covers it for now. We have a some fun things planned for the next couple of weeks with my parents coming and a short weekend trip for Cassie birthday.

Wow where does the time go? It has been way to long since either of us has written. With two children in school and a very active toddler my days are gone before I even have a chance to open my eyes!

We are all doing very good, Cassie is loving 2nd grade and all the fun that comes with learning how to add and subtract two digit numbers, reading, music class, computer lab & library days. If you were to look for Cassie in our house the first stop would be the sofa or her room behind a book, she loves to read!

Kira is loving kindergarten and doing very well also. She is starting to read a few words and can sound out just as many. She loves to color and play the computer.

Josiah will soon be two and I can't believe it. He is growing up so fast and learning new words everyday, motorcycle are no longer "GO" they are cycles. He is totally into trains these days and will spot one from miles away.

Kevin is busy with work. We are very thankful that he will be in the same country with us this year as Christmas, in fact he even has it off! I am staying busy trying to keep up with my three children and the everyday household responsibilities, as well has being the Co-Coordinator of our churches new MOPS group.

Our hope for you this Christmas season would be that you can really enjoy the true meaning of the season. To know that God loves you and he sent his son to earth that first Christmas night to be the savior of the world, to grow up and die for OUR sins.

First Day of school! (I know it is like the 2nd week of school)

Josiah was excited to get the girls out of the house! Can you tell? He does really miss them, as soon as they get home all he wants to do is play with them! It is so cute!
Can't believe she is in Kindergarten already! She is loving it, growing up way to fast!
Still amazed by my beautiful daughter everyday. She has and is growing up so fast and becoming such an amazing young women. 2nd grade better watch out!

We are still Alive!

Hi all we are still alive. Sorry it has been awhile since either Kevin or I have posted anything.

Some time in June I was looking at a website that had available houses for rent and found one I thought might work for our family in a town closer to base for Kevin and church, friends, the Dr, and just about everything we do. Long story short we looked at the house and decided to move. We gave notice on our house we were living and and started packing boxes in preparation to move Aug. 3rd. Kevin and I moved ourselves with a U-haul truck in 2 1/2 days!

Thank you so much to our wonderful friends that watched the kids all three days! We are loving our new house and have 80% of the boxes unpacked! I am hoping I will be able to park in my garage soon!

So that is what has been happening in our lives for the past few months, school starts next week and I am hoping my life will get back to some normal routine.

This is something I am learning but am not very good at! Life has been nothing but slow around here lately. Work as been crazy busy for Kevin which makes life for us just as busy, trying to hold on to every minute we have with him.

Juicy Juice

Thanks to the great folks at House Party, I was able to have another party. This one was sponsored by Juicy Juice. We had a wonderful play date where I was able to share Juicy Juice's newest juice. They have no added sugar, no artificial flavors or Preservative and come in a really cool 33.8 oz container. We got to try the apple, berry, & grape. They were all very good, but we were all surprised by how good the grape ones. One of the mom's who came said she was not much of a juice drinker, and really did not care for grape juice as it tastes like cough medicine. I convinced her to try the Juicy Juice and she loved it, she was sold, she said it had a very nice mild favor.

Beside the wonderful Juice we were also given a water bottle, re-usable shopping bag! We need to take care of God's beautiful nature any way we can right? He's Home!

Well it is official! Kevin is back home with us. It was a late night last night as he did not get to base until almost midnight. The kids did great, I woke them up and we drove to base, picked Kevin up and came home and they all went right back to sleep. Sunday Morning

It is Sunday morning and we are just about ready to leave for church on this WET CA morning. I thought I would let you know what is going on as of right now. Kevin should be on his way home by now. It will take a few days to get all the way over to CA, but at least he is on his way, we hope (no news is good news.) The girls know he is on his way home but I have not given then an exact time yet, I always say maybe. I learned really on that things happen and times and days change every minute.

So hopefully by next Sunday we should all be going to church together!

Mommy Moment

I know it is not Monday and I have not done a Mommy Moment in a long time but I have to share this before I forget it!

Kira and I listen to the FISH radio station just about every morning on the way to school. Part of the morning show is a segment call Junior Joker, where kids tell jokes. Anyway it was a joke about Noah this morning. Kira has a sense of humor but some of them I have to explain a little, this morning being one of them. So as we were talking about Noah and how he took two of every animal on the Ark with him, like two worms, two birds, two elephant, and so on. Kira says "yeah I know mom and he took two of those bad snakes, the sinning snakes, I saw it on in my bible!"

You have to love your kids and how their little brains work! Thanks Kira for a great start to my day!

SICK

It has been a crazy few days on our house. The kids were off from school on Monday so they came with me to walk in the Mall. (Walking in the Mall is something I do at least 3 days a week if not more, with some of my friends) The morning started early with kids up early crying and complaining. I shrugged it all off as them being tired. Well I guess I should not have done that, we were about half way around our first loop when Cassie lost her breakfast all over the floor! The positive note for me was I did not have to clean it!

So it is now Tuesday night Cassie can just not shake the fever she got Monday evening. I feel bad for my kids when they are sick or hurt. I am the first to tell you that I am not a very sympathetic person. I am more of the shake it off you will be OK type of person. I try to be sympathetic but it is just not there.

As of bed time Cassie had a fever so it looks like it will be another day at home for me. Not only am I not sympathetic I also am a on the go type of person. So being at home for two days now and the thought of a third is enough to drive me crazy.

Our hope is that no more gets sick or if we do that we are all better my next week when Kevin is hopefully going to be home. Just what we need to all be sick or just getting over it and then Kevin get it.

So with that said please pray for my kids! oh and I suppose me too!

Josiah and I hit both Sam's club and the grocery store this morning! OK so what you are saying, I only mention it because it should, God willing, be the last BIG trip to the store before Kevin come home!!!!

You see one of the things we love to do as a family is go grocery shopping. Strange? We don't think so! We love to cook together so it only reasons to go shopping together. It will be a little strange the first time we go together again as my trips have gone from having a family of 5 going before Kevin left, to it being just Josiah and I. I can't wait for Kevin to come with Josiah and I, we have so much fun zooming up and down the rows. Yes I said zooming, I have a boy remember the cart has become a race car!

Anyway Just thought I would share the joy of my day!

Val Kilmer Sticks Foot In Mouth

This is a letter from a Vietnam Veteran who posted it in response to actor, Val Kilmer's comments that Vietnam Vets were punks and criminals. He (Kilmer) further said that It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn't get on the football team, couldn't finagle a scholarship that got sent to Vietnam. He also made mention that he can more effectively represent that kid in Vietnam than a guy who was there. Let's all keep in mind that this clown is seriously talking about running for Governor of New Mexico when Bill Richarson's term is up. It appears to me that Val Kilmer is lost in his little fantasy world and should stay where he is at.

Quite an indictment against 3.5 million members of the U.S. military who served with honor in combat during the Vietnam war from a man who makes his living speaking lines written by someone else and who lives in a world of fantasy. My undergraduate degree is in Physics, I have an MBA, I have an Airline Transport Pilot's License and a Flight Engineer's Certificate, and I have worked in the field of Aerospace engineering for almost 40 years. Neither John Kerry nor GW Bush nor I, for that matter, had any say in whether we would be assigned duty in Vietnam unless we volunteered. Some of us did volunteer. Of course one could petition for four educational deferments and a fifth to spend a year in Paris studying French, as John Forbes Kerry did, being rich and a prodigy of John F. Kennedy. If one received 3 Purple Hearts, he could ask to come home, even after just 3 or 4 months, and even if the wounds didn't
cost him any downtime, as John Kerry did. The only ways to guarantee we would not be assigned to Vietnam would be to desert or dodge the draft, like Bill Clinton and many of the "Vietnam Veterans Against the War", or petition for status change to "Conscientious Objector" prior to receiving orders, or obtain an educational or family deferment, as millions of Americans did.

During my 12 month tour (actually 366 days), more than half the pilots with whom I flew my 100+ missions in Vietnam were Reservists, like me, and Air Guardsmen. John Kerry equated Guardsmen with draft dodgers. Now, Mr. Kilmer equates us all with "punks" and "borderline criminal or poor, and that's why they got sent to Vietnam. It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn't get on the football team, couldn't finagle a scholarship." I pitched four no-hitters my Senior year in High School, and our American Legion baseball team won the state championship two consecutive years. My scholarship offers included MIT, Cal Tech, and a number of other equally prestigious colleges and universities. What was your GPA, Mr. Kilmer?
The majority of members of the Guard and Reserves are former Active Duty military. Chances are the next time you get on a commercial airliner, the flight crew will be former military and may even be current members of the Reserves or Guard. Do you know the military background of the pilot who recently made a miracle dead stick landing in the Hudson River?

I often wondered how many names on the Vietnam Memorial Wall are of National Guardsmen and Reservists. One hundred and forty Medal of Honor recipients were in the National Guard. Six thousand seventy-seven members of the National Guard or Reserves died in Vietnam.

No, Mr. Kilmer, you don't have a clue who we are, and you will never be one of us. My conduct and the conduct of my peers was and continues to this day to be slandered by envious Hollywood loser wannabes like yourself and politicians and the media. Sadly, they have again been joined by both the ignorant and the unpatriotic and encouraged by enemies and traitors to undermine the efforts of those new military heroes now proudly serving our country. Military veterans are a brotherhood of unique individuals, melded together in the crucible of wars past and present and bonded by duty, honor, sacrifice, blood, and love of country. More so than through any other fraternity, the associations and friendships formed through the military and law enforcement and firefighters and other emergency service providing units are lifelong, and we mourn the loss of our comrades until we rejoin them again someday in
formation in Heaven. Sadly, envious Hollywood loser wannabes, politicians, and historians do not understand, let alone share, our code of conduct and ethics. Perhaps someday they will learn if they have the courage and integrity to recognize our accomplishments and the will to seek the truth and report it honestly and accurately.

No, Mr. Kilmer, you don't have a clue who we are, and you will never be one of us.

Psalms Experiment

Our church has been going through the book of Psalms. The congregation was given the chance to take a challenge or experiment if you will for 30 day dealing with the book of Psalms. So the kids and I, well I suppose I decided to do the experiment. We doing two different "experiments" one as a family and then I am doing something personally.

As a family we are reading from the book Psalms For Young Children, after supper each night. Then we talk about what we can learn from it, journal about it and write down prayer request and take turns praying. Some night are much better then other. Tonight was one of the good one, the night where you know what you are doing is getting into there heads, that they are learning. Kira said tonight that "We love God because he loved us first!" Then this was one of her prayer request. "that we pray for the bad people, like the ones in jail, so that they won't do bad things anymore." You have to love the way kids think about things.

Personally I am reading 5 Psalms a day, doing a little journal and praying. It has been very good, but also very interesting. I have always had hard time finding the right time of day to do any kind of "quite" time. If I do it at night I fall asleep, I have tired during the day but always end up finding something to do, mornings work for awhile till I get lazy. So when am I doing it you ask? Well I have been getting up early and doing it. So far it is working good, there has been a couple of morning I have wanted to stay in bed, but I have not. We will have to see how it goes once Kevin comes home, but I am going to try my hardest! Maybe I will get up and then go back to bed!

Anyway I thought I would just let you all know what I am doing, some what for accountability if nothing more. Hard to hide or put it off when you know the "world wide web" knows about it :)

Also, if anyone has any good ideas for family devotions I am all ears, this book we have won't last very long and now that we have started the routine of devotions it is something I want to keep going. I have three kids, almost 7, 4 & 1 (girl, girl, boy.) Thanks in advance.

February Already!

WOW where has the time gone, I can't believe it is February already. This is a big deal why you ask?

If all goes well Kevin should be home this month! Date? Who knows! Kevin and I learned very early on in Kevin's deployments that we don't believe anything, dates that is, till it is a day or two out. Even then I don't really let myself believe it till he is in the states, then once I can touch him is when I say he is HOME!

But it does help some to know that it should happen this month! Thank goodness Feb. is a short month right!

So what I am going to do with the month? I have a hair appointment, Dr. appointment, need to REALLY clean the house, wrap Birthday & Christmas gifts, stock the fridge with good food! and just start preparing the kids.

But for tonight I am going to enjoy my glass of wine and a few last nights of "girl" T.V.

There are just some days that you know it is just best to not leave your house! Today is one of those days in the Isenberger house. Between Josiah getting a mouth full of teeth all at the same time giving him a runny nose & cough to me being flat out tired! All added to the fact that it is not even 10am in the morning and Josiah has already had two "boo-boos" this morning. All confirming that it was an OK decision to have a "Pajama Sunday."

Boo boo #1 - Josiah forehead and lip found the edge of the coffee table.
Boo boo #2 - While snuggling on the couch with Mom, the side of Josiah head found my ring.

It has stopped "Raining" around here for the time being :)

Kevin's car is fixed and running well, all for just a mere $214! (I had visions of much more)

My van is in the shop as we speak getting the dent fixed for "Free" of course since they did it right!

I got the lawn mowed, the house cleaned, paint project with the girls, & we played outside all on our day off on Monday!

Witness history in our country, not sure how I feel, but that is a whole other post!

Continue to walk with my friends at our local mall for great adult conversation and of course the added benefit of exercise!

God is good, Life is good, Just waiting on finding out when Kevin will be home to join us!

I am doing some research on San Diego CA for a family vacation. We are hoping to take a long weekend and head south to San Diego. Being a Military family does have it perks at times. There are tons of opportunities for us to get in free or at a discounted rate to many of the fun things we hope to see while on vacation.

The main research I am doing is a place to stay. I can't decided if we want to just stay at a hotel or try to rent a condo of some short. Hotel may be cheaper per night, but if we rent a condo we have more space, a kitchen where we could do some cooking and packing of lunches. The question I keep asking myself is would we really use the kitchen, would we really cook, and pack the lunches? The condo would give us more space, possibly two bedrooms so kids could go to bed at a decent hour and Kevin and I could enjoy the evening together without going to bed at the same time as the kids, which usually ends up happening when we stay at a hotel.

Is your head spinning yet? Mine is! So if anyone has a favorite place they have stayed or heard of any fabulous deals, please let me know!

When It rains it pours

I can tell that it is getting closer to when Kevin should be home because it is pouring in our house right now! It always seems to happen right after they leave and right before they come home!

Both Cars need to fix! The van went in for the routine oil change and all is good, except when I went to get in was a big scratch and dent on the driver door! YIKES. The dealer is going to fix it for me as they did it, but they will need the van for a few day. All good right, I have a second car not being used as Kevin is gone right? WRONG! It won't start! So tomorrow with the wonderful help of my neighbor we are bringing the car in to get fixed so that I can drive that while the dealer fixes my van! Told you it is pouring in our house! Oh, all the week before pay day too!

To add to it, i am not sleeping, not sure why. Last night I heard something, it was the wind I know but I had myself so freaked out that I did not sleep but 4hrs! Thank goodness the girls are so great and I was able to take a nap! Got to run the baby is awaking! Quite time is officially over!

So as my day's as a single married mother are coming to an end please pray for me and my family!

Lazy Saturday

Today was officially a lazy Saturday, well of sorts.

I finally gave into the girls begging for a sleepover. Two of the neighborhood girlfriends came over Friday about 4pm, we had cheese pizza and pop. They watched a movie, had popcorn and headed upstairs for "girl" time. Poor Kira came down with a cold and pretty much lost her voice, so I believe she was the first one to fall asleep. It was quite at about 9pm and lasted till 6am. So my lazy day started a little early! After making some waffles and bacon for the kids and then cleaning up. One of the girls had to be home by 8:30 this morning and the other left about 10 am. By then I had already found myself a nice comfy spot on the couch! Josiah was very happy to just play with his toys. He would crawl over every once in awhile to check on me and yell upstairs to the girls just to make sure we were all here. Lunch time came after a little snuggle time with the girls. We ate and then Kira, Josiah & Mom took naps while Cassie read books, played and went over to one of the friends house for a little big girl time! (Oh sometime in there I did take a shower)

At one point I did make it to the computer room to my surprise Kevin was on-line so we got to "chat" for a while which was very nice. Like I have said before you have to love today's technology. By 3pm we were all awake and back home. Played a game of UNO, and then headed to WalMart to pick up my very late Christmas photo cards! Back home for leftover supper for me and chicken tenders, veggie and fries for the kids. So like I said a very, very lazy Sat.

So for those of you that read this and are a lucky few that will get a "Winter" Photo card and letter from the Isenberger, I think you may have to just wait few more days. I just can't seam to get into the letter writing mood!

If anyone has any cute idea on fun letter, please send them my way. Our family letter writer happens to be out of commission right now, well not really, but just a little to busy protecting our country!

I hope that you can find a Lazy Saturday soon! They are the BOMB!

I am not big on New Year Resolutions, but I will say that I am going to try to Blog a little more often this next year. For some reason it was easier when Kevin was around then when he is gone. Anyway, I want to give you a better look into our family in the next year. Our thoughts and the everyday life.

I know it has been forever! I did not realize how long it had been since I posted, SORRY :(
It has been very busy and crazy around the Isenberger house. From birthday parties to getting the house ready for Family! It has been a great few weeks. The best would have to be listening to my oldest take over the tradition of reading the Christmas Story on Christmas Eve, OK so for time sake she only read a few lines, but it still was one of the most precious moments yet.

As we prepare and plan for the season, we try hard to remember the true reason we celebrate Christmas. That God would send his only son to the earth for us, to save us all from our sins.

The other important part in our planning is to hold on to our traditions. It is important for our family that even if a member is not able to be with us (this year Kevin) we hold on to those traditions we started as a family. So thing like having Cassie and I read the Christmas story since Kevin is not with us, baking the cake or cupcake to celebrate Christ birth. Holding on to tradition help make it feel like that person is with us even when they are not.

A Different Christmas Poem

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,

God is Good! Our Family has been blessed tons this last week and I wanted to share them with you all.

We are home safe and sound after a wonderful time in Grand Rapids, MI with my family. The flight home was not as good as the flight there. Josiah was in my lap for both legs of the trip, but it could have been worse. Cassie and Kira were great, they have become pretty self sufficient when it comes to flying. Cassie even sat in the row behind me for part of the flight, she orders her own drink, took a nap and even went to the bathroom on her own! Kira's stomach as bothering her so we took a few trips to the bathroom, but we made it home without any puck or poop on any of us! After hear some of my complaint words coming from Cassie and Kira, I realized I must have been doing a lot of complaining, so after reminding all of us that I choose not to pay for a seat for Josiah so we could not complain about him sitting on my lap as it was my choose to not buy him a seat. (We are big on living with our chooses around our house these days!)

I came home to a very clean house. Cleaner then I had left it, I try to make sure things are picked up so that when I return from a vacation it is not to overwhelming but it was really clean. A missed placed toy here, a bed made there, vacuum marks in my bedroom, no dust on my dresser, things that made me go hmm? Someone has been in my house? My new friends are the best, they cleaned my house for me while I was gone. Thank you fellow Mall Walkin Mommy Mobbers!

While on vacation I got an e-mail from my commanders wife telling me about this wonderful nursery that was giving Christmas trees to Military Families with Deployed spouses. WOW a free Christmas tree! So after church on Sunday the kids and I went to Green Acres Nursery & Suply in Roseville, CA and got our free tree and poinsettias! Thank you so much Green Acres you are AWESOME! They wrapped it all up, cut the end off and even tied it to the top of my van!

My wonderful neighbor from across the street came over and help me get the tree down from the top of the car and into the house. We got it up and sitting straight in the stand. So nice to be in such a wonderful neighborhood.

Before I left I notice a slight squeak when I would step on my brakes of the van. So I had it in my plans to have them looked at when I got home. Well as luck would have it the sliding door on the van also stopped working, so no excuse to not bring it in now. The wonderful people at the dealership take such good care of me. I was bracing for the worst and ready to pay BIG money. Well the brake are fine, actually the guy said they look very very good! And the door was something very simple and I only got charged labor! On top of all that, they have a wonderful van shuttle that brought me home and then pick me up this morning when I needed a ride(see next blessing), they even drove by Kira's school so I could drop her off.

Having brought the van in yesterday and not knowing it would be done in a day I was planning on using Kevin car to bring the kids to school today and all the other stuff I do! I got all the car seats in the car and then loaded the kids in. It would be close to getting to the bus stop on time but we just might make it. I put the key in and the car won't start, it is dead as a door knob! Great neighbor #2. The family next door also has a son that goes to Cassie school so they brought Cassie this morning, he also brought his battier charger over and we got Kevin car going!

God is so Good even in the mist of bad/hard things he send blessing.

Just the other night Kira woke up and was complaining about a scratch on her foot. She said that it really hurt and that the "brain" in her foot hurt!

This is how Kira woke the house hold up yesterday! She ran around say's "Happy Turkey Day!"

I pray that everyone had a very blessed Turkey day. We had a good day filled with lots of good food, and family time. We of course missed someone very important in our house! On day's like Thanksgiving we miss Kevin tons, but we are also so very thankful for all all the sacrifices he and all the other military members do for us.

So Kevin, we miss you and love you tons. I wish you could have been with us as we sat around the table saying what we are thankful for, or as we played card games, as we went for our walk, as we ate way to much yummy dessert, and as we sat around telling stories from our childhood. I understand why you have to be gone and we are so thankful for all you do!

First day's of Vacation

We are in MI safe and sound. We got to my parents late, late Wed. night. Our flights could have been worse. We flew from Sacramento to Chicago, about 4hrs. It was full to the gills! So needless to say I had to hold Josiah, which I knew was a possibility as I did not spend the money to buy him a seat. Kira got to sit by the window and Cassie sat in the middle. The girls did great, I had bought them new coloring books, colored pencils and each a new travel game. Josiah was also very good, he played peek-a-boo with everyone women on the plane, he is such a flirt! He did take a little nap and of course they all ate just about all the snacks I had packed for them! Once in Chicago we had about 20min before we boarded our next flight. We found a little supper and check in at our gate. I was very pleased to find out that there would be plenty of room for Josiah to have a seat! So for our last flight, which was only about 1hr gate to gate, Josiah sat by the window I was in the middle and then Kira. Cassie was queen of her row, she got to sit all by herself! She was loving it! Over all it was great, my kids are such good travelers.

It is much colder here in MI, but I am not minding it. The kids are also doing great with it. We have been out for a walk every morning, down to the bakery for bread & coffee, the book store for a new book, the deli for lunches, or just to Auntie Amy's store. The kids have spent time with their cousin and me with my sibling.

I am enjoying just relaxing and having a few extra hands to hold, wipe noises, feed hungry mouths, or whatever! I am sure there will be more to come.

Just an FYI, if I don't update this much in the next couple of weeks, it is because I am having to much fun at my parents! Yep, the kids and I are headed to Grand Rapids, MI for a couple of weeks! I told Kevin this summer that I was not going anywhere this deployment but oh well. The kids and I both need it. I will try to update some while I am gone or at lease give you a trip report on how I did with the kids by my self! I am a little nervous as Josiah has been sick for the past three days. But I know that with God help all things are possible, even flying with three kids! Plus I know as soon as I land in MI there will be two grandparents waiting to hold and love on my kids!

Cassie finally lost one of her bottom teeth today! She has had her fingers in her mouth for about 2 months now, even during the middle of the soccer game she would be playing with this tooth. So it finally come out today! YEAH!

There is a little bit of a problem, the tooth fairy that normally visits the Isenberger house is on deployed to the big sand box! The problem is that the interim fairy can't remember how much money is normally left! YIKES!

Well I guess the fill in fairy might just be setting a new standard! These are just some of the "joys" of our lives!

Unfortunately in the two day's I think I can count on one hand the number of people we had. But I did make a little money! and made a little more room in the garage!

There was a question as to the difference in a Garage sale and a Yard sale? Not sure I would think a Garage sale is in your garage and a yard sale would be in the Yard, if you had no garage? Very interesting question though! There has to be some history behind it!

Yard Sale/Garage Sale

Some friends and I had and are having a Garage Sale this morning and tomorrow. I have not decided if it is worth the money. I have sold a few things, but still have more to go. But is the headache and time worth the money? At what point do you just give it away to people who could really use it?

This is my questions today. Is it worth it? What will I spend the money I make on? Things that I need or things that I want? Should I just donate the things?

Scrapbooking

I have found some wonderful friends and we have been getting together once a week and doing some scrapbooking. I LOVE it! It is so much more fun for me to scrapbook with other people. We have also been playing around with Digital scrapbooking, not sure if it is for me or not, I still really like to know that I have personally touched and worked on a page. But as busy as I am and as far behind as I am I thought I might start giving it a try. My friend told me about this website scrapblog.com it is free to join so I thought I would play around with it a little. Here is my very first digital scrapbook page.

I am also playing around a little with Creative Memories free software. I will let you know how that goes as well.

What do you think? Anybody have a favorite site? I would like to be able to print just single pages to put in my albums I have started. I may also make a full digital album but not sure if I am there yet!

I would love any and all suggestions!

Monday Mommy Moments

Kira has the never ending runny nose in our house. It never fails that as soon as she takes a bit of food in the morning she will sneeze. Today was not any different, usually after a few good sneezes in the morning she is pretty good with a few good nose blowing moments. As I blew her nose right before we left the van to walk into school. I asked her where she stored all the buggers, that her head was not big enough. She just looked at me and said, "I don't know, but if you don't blow my nose I just Bless and Bless all day!"
